Hmmm... Where should i start... First things first, The Inheritors-also known as The Heirs-has a stunning cast. I mean, I wouldn't have expected a drama to have so many big names in it. I'm just gonna list out the main ones.
- Lee Min Ho as Kim Tan (18, heir of Jeguk Group)
- Park Shin Hye as Cha Eun Sang (18, her of "poverty")
- Kim Woo Bin as Choi Young Do (18, heir of Zeus Hotel)
- Krystal Jung (f(x)) as Lee Bo-na (18, heir of Mega Entertainment)
- Kang Min-hyuk (CNBlue) as Yoon Chan Young (18, son of the chief secretary of Jeguk Group)
- Park Hyung-Sik (ZE:A) as Jo Myung-Soo (18, heir of Seungri Law Firm)
- Kim Ji Won as Yoo Rachel (18, heir of RS International)
- Kang Ha Neul as Lee Hyo Shin (19, heir of Attorney-general Lee Chang Hyuk)
- Jun Soo Jin as Kang Ye Sol (18, heir of Gangnam room salons)
- Choi Jin Hyuk as Kim Won (31, President of Jeguk Group)
- Im Joo Eun as Jeon Hyun-joo (25, Jeguk High School Teacher)
Involuntarily moving on from Min Ho. There's Park Shin Hye. If you've watched You're Beautiful or Heartstrings, you'll know her. In The Heirs she plays Eun Sang, the daughter of Jeguk Groups housekeeper and Kim Tan's girlfriend (lucky girl, I might add). She is portrayed as a down to earth girl who has more part time jobs than most people. Against all odds she bumps into Kim Tan while in the States looking for her sister. Back in Korea she gets a once in a lifetime chance to go to the exclusive Jeguk High School, which she finds out later on is also the same school Tan goes to. Kim Woo Bin, who starred in To The Beautiful You and School 2013, plays Young Do, Kim Tan's best friend turned enemy. This is because he blamed Tan for him not being able to see his mother one last time before she left prior to his strict and abusive father going to jail. In the beginning of the show he is often seen bullying Moon Joon Young, a student placed in the "Social Care Group". Joon Young is later seen transferring schools as he can't take anymore of Young Do's antics. Young Do's dad is engaged to Yoo Rachel's mother. Making him her step-brother.
Kim Ji Won from To The Beautiful You is the haughty Yoo Rachel. She immediately develops a certain disliking towards Eun Sang as she is jealous and furious that Kim Tan picks Eun Sang over her. She has an awkward relationship with her sunbae (senior) Hyo Shin. Her vulnerable side shows when her schoolmates find out about her mothers engagement with Young Do's father. Throughout the show she is seen insulting and looking down on Eun Sang. Chan Young is played by CNBlue's Kang Min Hyuk, previously seen in Heartstrings alongside Park Shin Hye and fellow CNBlue leader, Jung Yong Hwa. He is Eun Sang's childhood friend and also her best friend. When he finds out about her being in America and having not enough cash on her to fly back to Korea, he doesn't hesitate to loan her some cash, which Eun Sang stubbornly insists on paying back even though he tells her she doesn't have to do so. He is smart and always ranks first place in his class. And also the son of Yoon Jae-ho, Jeguk Groups Chief Secretary who was previously involved with Esther Lee,Rachel's mom. Although he is listed under the "Social Care Group" he doesn't get bullied as he is the class president and also dating Lee Bo-na.
Krystal Jung from f(x) plays the cute and playful Lee Bo-na. Because she's dating Chan Young she knows about Eun Sang before most of the students in Jeguk High. She may seem spoiled but actually she is just jealous of Eun Sang as the latter is very close to Chan Young. But she is seen standing up for Eun Sang against the spoiled Rachel and also invites Eun Sang to sleepover at her place when the latter had nowhere else to go. Compared to Rachel, she's a freaking saint! ZE:A's flower boy Park Hyung Sik has the role of Jo Myung-Soo. He is a slacker and has no interest in inheriting the family business. He is almost always seen with a camera and enjoys sneaking up on his friends and taking photos when they least expect it. He and Hyo Shin are often seen trying to breakup most of Kim Tan and Young Do's fights. If u ask me, I'd say he's cute and rather elfish.
Lee Hyo Shin is played by Kang Ha-neul, who previously starred in To The Beautiful You and Monstar. He is sunbae to most of the main cast from Jeguk High School. It is said in the show that he once made an attempt to take his own life as he could not take being pressured by his parents, fortunately for us he failed. Or we wouldn't have our oh so cute sunbae. He is laid back and rebellious. His hoobae's (junior) are often seen looking up to him, as their sunbae he gladly advises them throughout the show. He is also very close to Kim Tan and seems to be the only person on Earth -scrape that, in the Universe- that can actually bring out a genuine smile on stone-cold Rachel's pretty, proud as a peacock face. Now...Ah yes, there's Kang Ye Sol, she is Lee Bo-na's best friend and if u think Bo-na is spoiled, think again. Oh and she is played by Jun Soo Jin, who previously starred in School 2013. Now that i think of it, there are quite a few actors and actresses from To The Beautiful You and School 2013 who landed a role here. Back to Ye Sol, she is hiding a secret which ends up getting revealed by....*Drum roll*.... none other than our beloved Yoo Rachel.
Okay, enough with the characters and actors. The Heirs has a very interesting storyline. Even then, many people thougth it was going to be just another high school drama. But The Heirs sure did prove them wrong. It has just the right amount of comedy, romance and drama. My opinion? Lee Min Ho is such a great actor. Even when he gets slapped by his father, his face automatically bounces back to get slapped again. It's like a reflex! All in alI, it's a definite must watch! =)
